Fire Safety

This course is designed to provide all employees with the essential knowledge and understanding of Fire safety requirements within the workplace and to enable them to work safely, act responsibly and prevent fire accidents and emergencies occurring. To promote the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors within the setting.

The learning outcomes

 By the end of this unit you will be able to:

  • Discuss the employer and employee responsibilities under health and safety and fire safety legislation
  • Outline the principles of fire safety
  • Understand how fires start and the speed at which they can quickly grow
  • Describe practices that prevent fires from starting and spreading
  • Be aware of emergency procedures to be followed in the event of a fire in the work setting
